POLICE are treating the death of a Selkirk man as unexplained.
Emergency services were called to a house on Ettrick Road at around 8.30am on Monday.
The man, who has been named locally as Grant Fleming, was rushed to Borders General Hospital.
But he died a short time later.
Local officers are continuing with their enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told us: "We were called to an address in Ettrick Road, Selkirk, following a call to the Scottish Ambulance Service about concern for a person.
"Emergency Services attended and a 49-year-old man was taken to Borders General Hospital where he sadly passed away.
"Enquiries continue into the full circumstances surrounding the death which is being treated as unexplained.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
