SEVERAL farms across the Borders have been hit by a spate of thefts in one night.

The two break-ins and theft occurred overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, September 11 and 12, all involving farm vehicles and equipment.

The first incident took place at a farm in the Bowden area near Melrose when a grey Mitsubishi pick-up was taken.

A red Outlander quad bike was taken along with farm equipment and fuel in a second incident at a farm in the Bonjedward area, near Jedburgh.

And the third incident took place at a farm in the Crailing area, near Jedburgh, when another red Outlander quad bike was taken along with a quantity of fuel.

Officers are currently treating all three incidents as linked.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told us: "Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident numbers 521 for Bowden, 437 for Bonjedward or 921 for Crailing, all of September 12.

"Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the Charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
