LAST Saturday saw the Borders Street Pastors complete their 150th patrol in the region.

Team leader Fiona Corbett led the patrol in Galashiels with Billy Caswell and Steve MacDonald.

Street Pastors come from all over the Borders and in addition to the weekly Saturday night patrol in Galashiels, are also out once a month from 11pm until around 3.30am in Hawick.

In addition, teams have been present at a number of Common Riding events and Rugby 7s.

Using the principles of listening, caring and helping, the team patrol the central area of the town, offering assistance to those in need and helping people who may have found themselves in a vulnerable position.

Flip flops continue to be a popular item that the team carry, with over 1,200 pairs issued since 2016; and with over 7000 lolly pops given away in that time as well, Street Pastor patrols are never quiet.
