A HAWICK man who admitted attempting to drive a car while almost five times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 22 months.
Callum Mowat, 32, of McLagan Drive, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened in Teviot Crescent, Hawick, on April 21.
Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told he had a breath/alcohol count of 101 microgrammes – the legal limit being 22.
In addition to being disqualified, Mowat was ordered to carry out 75 hours unpaid work as part of a Community Pay Back Order.
