KIDS Innerleithen Youth Theatre is calling all artists across Tweeddale to get creative and design the programme cover for their debut show next month.

The cast have been rehearsing for months in preparation for their performance of Annie Jnr at the Memorial Hall in November.

The organisation was formed after members of Innerleithen District Operatic Society recognised the need to create a theatre group for young thespians locally.

Committee members felt that, as it is a children’s show, it would be fitting to feature a child’s design on the cover of the programme.

President of IDOS Nicola Watt, said: “We are very proud of how hard the cast of KIYT have worked since its inception, but especially in the months leading up to this, their first full production.

“We thought a programme cover competition would help get other children involved and of course, help spread the word about this fabulous show and make it a huge success to reward all the children’s efforts.”

Both primary and secondary aged children across Tweeddale and Peeblesshire are being invited to design a cover with whatever they feel best represents the show.

The show’s title does not need to be included as this will already be produced on the cover, however artwork must be within an area of 11cm x 11cm.

While the winning design will feature on the programme, it is hoped that all entries will be displayed in the Memorial Hall during the shows which will run on November 8-10.

Designs must be submitted by October 19 by post to KIYT Cover Competition, Piccadilly, 35 High Street, Innerleithen, EH44 6HD, or scanned and emailed to president@idaos.or.uk

Tickets for the show are now available for purchase from the Thrift Shop in Innerleithen, www.idas.org.uk booking@idaos.org.uk, Facebook/inneropera, or by phoning 0845 224 1908.
