A GALASHIELS man who was feared to have jumped from the Galafoot Bridge has been traced 'safe and well' by police.
A major search was launched yesterday morning after Steven Lumsden's Audi car was found deserted on the bridge near Kingsknowe.
The 39-year-old was last seen in the Dean Street area of his hometown at around 10.50pm the previous night.
Police officers were joined by members of Borders Search and Rescue to scour the banks of the Tweed downstream from Galafoot Bridge.
And an appeal was made for anyone who had information relating to Steven's disappearance to come forward.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told us: "Mr Lumsden has now traced by officers and he is safe and well."
