A 50-YEAR-OLD man has been accused of assaulting two teenage males in the grounds of the local primary school.
Gary Adams is also charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Newcastleton Primary School on March 30.
He is also said to have wasted police time at his home in the village's Frank Coutts Court by falsely representing to a constable that he had been assaulted by a group of five or six youths who had thrown a stick which he claimed cut his head.
Adams pleaded not guilty and the case will next call at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on October 29.
