A GLASGOW man has been accused of pretending to an 80-year-old pensioner that he needed £2,700 of work done to the roof of his Borders property.
Alexander Reid is then said to have tried to obtain a further £4,000 for work done to the elderly man's property at West Linton.
The offences are alleged to have been committed between February 12 and February 15.
Reid, of Mainhill Road, Bargeddie, Bailliston, denies a charge of fraud.
The 38-year-old will stand trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court on November 20.
