SILVER Band members in Selkirk are ready for a blow-out this Christmas.
The musicians recently returned from the Centaur auditorium at Cheltenham Racecourse, where they finished a highly-credible eighth in the National Brass Band Championships.
It was Selkirk Silver Band's highest ever placing against the best bands from across the UK.
And they will hope to carry on that form into the busy festive season.
This weekend the band will return to competition as they take to the stage at the Borders Entertainment Contest in Innerleithen.
With Colin Kemp back conducting, the musicians will play a 15-minute performance.
And almost straight away the busy band will begin preparing for a packed programme in the lead up to Christmas.
Following a Christmas concert in Ettrickbridge on Monday, December 10, Selkirk Silver Band will host their own concert in the Victoria Hall on Saturday, December 15.
On both Friday and Saturday, December 21, they will also accompany carol singers at The Haining.
And they will also lead the traditional carol singing in Selkirk Market Place on Christmas Eve.
Band members and supporters are reminded that the Selkirk Silver Band Annual General Meeting takes place on Thursday, November 15 at 8pm in the Band Hall.
