A 41-year-old man from Cheshire has been accused of travelling hundreds of miles to meet a 15-year-old boy in the Borders with the intention of having unlawful sexual activity with him.

Christian Taylor pleaded not guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court to the offence which is said to have happened in Peebles between June 17 and June 20, last year.

He is charged with communicating with the teenager and arranging to meet despite him not being 16 years or over.

Taylor of Percyvale Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, will stand trial on January 29 with an intermediate hearing on January 14.

He was granted bail with the special conditions not to enter Peebles or contact the 15-year-old.
