NEWS that a historic memorial in Innerleithen has received some tender loving care has been welcomed by community leaders.
During the summer, chairman of Innerleithen Community Trust Ross McGinn, expressed his disappointment that the 19th century memorial to recognise the dedication and service of Dr John Cameron had been left to deteriorate.
However, works are ongoing to bring the memorial back to its former glory.
Mr McGinn said: “The railings and lettering have been painted, and I understand that the leaves and moss in the surrounds will be tidied when the painter has finished.”
