RAIL bosses are hoping to prevent any scrums on Saturday by yet again providing extra carriages for rugby fans in the Borders.

Last weekend the service from Tweedbank to Waverley had additional carriages throughout the day for fans heading to Murrayfield to watch Scotland beat Fiji.

And extra carriages will again be rolling up and down the 35-miles track for this week's match with South Africa.

ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said: "We’re really looking forward to helping fans travel to the capital city to cheer on Scotland in this weekend’s Autumn Test.

“After last week’s fantastic win against Fiji, we’re expecting services to be very busy so customers should plan ahead.

“To help your journey run smoothly, allow extra time for travel and buy your tickets in advance on our website or mobile app.”

Fans heading to the game are advised to allow more time for travel, as queuing systems will be in place at Haymarket after the final whistle.

ScotRail will have extra staff on hand to help customers and, as with most large events, alcohol bans will be in force.
