Owners of Marmions want to expand into the neighbouring Wynd Theatre
A RESTAURANT in Melrose has announced plans to expand into a former theatre.
Marmions Brasserie in the town's Buccleuch Street wants to create a larger dining area by expanding into the neighbouring property.
The full application comes just a week after the King's Arms announced plans to build a new restaurant extension on Melrose High Street.
Marmions' plans would see the brasserie expand into the former Wynd Theatre.
The arts venue, which opened in 1995, closed four years ago and despite attempts to re-open it as a community theatre and also a private gallery, the doors have remained locked.
The full planning application by Marmions owner Eyup Kurt will be considered over the coming weeks.
