61-year-old faces restaurant extortion charge
A 61-year-old man has been accused of an assault and robbery at a local restaurant as well as extortion.
Colin Millar is accused of assaulting the manager of the Contented Vine in Woodmarket by threatening him with violence and robbing him of £185 on July 14.
The 61-year-old of Farrier Court in Kelso is also charged with extortion by inducing the man to hand over a further £60.
Millar pleaded not guilty to both offences and a trial has been set for November 29 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
