PEEBLES fell silent on Sunday as those who have died in conflicts around the world were remembered.
Over the past two weeks special commemoration events have taken place to mark the centenary of the end of World War One.
Prominent poppies carrying the names of the fallen from the 1914-18 conflict, talks, exhibitions and concerts cumulated with a special Remembrance Parade on the Saturday.
And the additional significance of this year's Remembrance Sunday led to the largest gathering in living memory assembling in and around the Quadrangle.
While the fallen from the Great War were rightly honoured, Sunday's service allowed families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in other conflicts to also be publicly remembered.
Comforting words were delivered, wreaths were laid and the town bowed its head for two minutes' silence.
