A BORDERS school has tread the boards to help raise over £1,000 for a local sports charity.
Pupils at St Mary's School in Melrose performed the musical Me and My Girl last spring, with the proceeds of one of the show's donated to the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust, who assist local youngsters to progress in their chosen sports.
A total of £1,098 was raised by the Upper School pupils' performance, which was handed over to Trustee Kristin Boland this week.
Teacher Kirsty McRae said: "We were delighted to help out such a worthwhile local cause. Thanks to all the parents and family members who came along to support the show in March."
Dave Boland, Chairman of the Trust, added: "This is a fantastic amount to raise for our charity, and we are hugely thankful to St Mary's pupils and staff for their generous efforts."
