A 25-year-old man who admitted struggling violently with police officers at Borders General Hospital has been jailed for 110 days at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Craig Robson pleaded guilty to stealing a lock knife from a house in Allars Bank, Hawick, on November 4, and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in a police vehicle en-route to the hospital.
Sheriff David Clapham said he could see no alternative to a custodial sentence.
But he back-dated the prison sentence to November 5 when Robson of Priors Court, Jedburgh, was first remanded in custody in connection with the matter.
