A GALASHIELS man accused of indecent communications with who he thought was an underage girl will return to court in the new year.
Peter Mulvey faces two charges in connection with an undercover operation by an online anti-grooming group known as Wolf Pack Hunters UK.
A video showing the 41-year-old being approached by members of the group outside the Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh has been watched almost 100,000 times on social media.
Mr Mulvey was later charged with two offences by police and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday (Tuesday).
His defence team are now seeking a legal debate over the charges.
A spokesman for Scottish Court Services told us: “There was a plea taken by the defence to the competency of both charges, so a legal debate has been assigned for January, 14.”
