A TEENAGER has appeared from custody at Selkirk Sheriff Court accused of assaulting a man in Galashiels town centre at the weekend.
Jacob Niblo Woods is charged with kicking his alleged victim repeatedly on the head and body to his injury.
The assault is said to have taken place in Gala Lane on Sunday.
The 19-year-old - formerly of Eildon Road, Hawick, but gave his partner's address in High Street, Galashiels, - pleaded not guilty to the assault charge while on bail and a trial date was set for April 9 with an intermediate hearing on March 25.
He was released on bail but placed on a night time home curfew between the hours of 8pm and 6am and with the special condition of not contacting his alleged victim.
