A HAWICK man has been accused of stalking a woman over a period of eight years.
Michael Jeffrey is said to have engaged in a course of conduct likely to cause her fear and alarm at Weensland Road, Slitrig Crescent and at St Cuthberts Church, all Hawick between December 2010 and November 2018.
It is alleged the 54-year-old repeatedly approached her, attended at her address, engaged her in conversation and gave her gifts despite being repeatedly told by her and others that his attentions were unwanted.
Jeffrey of Ancrum Court, Hawick, pleaded not guilty to the stalking charge and a trial date has been fixed for March 19 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court with an intermediate hearing on March 4.
