A SELKIRK man has been accused of picking up a dog and threatening to throw it into a river.
Andrew Gillie is alleged to have threatened two men with violence unless they dropped charges against him and then threatened their dog.
The 32-year-old of Buccleuch Road, is also charged with assaulting the two men in Bridge Street, Selkirk, on September 2.
He pleaded not guilty to all three charges and a trial date has been fixed for March 26 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Gillie and Hannah Hunter, 22, of Woodside Drive, Galashiels, will also face trial on that date on a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing and making obscene comments in Yarrow Terrace, Selkirk, on August 11.
