POLICE are trying to track down two men and a white vehicle after quad bike thefts near Hawick.

Last Thursday a green Honda 500 quad bike and a red Honda 400EX quad bike were stolen from a farm at Kirkton.

During the early hours of the Friday a trails bike, a Honda 420 quad bike and power tools were taken from another farm at Cogsmill.

It is believed two men, who had north-east of England accents, were seen acting suspiciously in the area.

They were last seen in a white Ford Transit flat-bed vehicle on the B6399 Hawick-to-Newcastleton Road at around 2pm on the Thursday.

A spokesowman for Police Scotland said: "If you saw this vehicle, or any other suspicious activity in these areas or have any information relating to these crimes please call 101 quoting incident numbers 612 or 1637 of January 11.

"Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 11."
