CATERING students at Borders College are looking out their best silver ahead of a charity dinner next month.
The glittering evening to benefit Doddie Weir's My Name’5 Doddie foundation will be hosted by rugby coach Bruce Aitchison, who is the depute headteacher of Hawick High School.
And joining him at the top table will be the legendary Scotland second row from Stow who was recently awarded an OBE for his services to rugby and motor neuron disease.
Guests throughout the evening will be well catered for by level 2 and 3 Catering & Hospitality students at Scottish Borders Campus.
Joanne George from Borders College said: “Our hospitality students and staff are honoured and delighted to be catering for such a prestigious event in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, using only the best local produce.”
The evening of quality food and great banter is sure to be a huge success, with a charity auction taking place during the tartan-themed evening.
SHARC Energy Systems, who are famous for supplying hot water by extracting thermal energy from wastewater to provide cost-effective and eco-friendly water heating at Scottish Borders Campus, have been announced as the main event sponsor.
The event on Tuesday, February 26 kicks off at 7pm with a welcome reception followed by dinner, banter and a charity auction.
Tickets, priced at £50 for the five-course dinner and wine, are available from Borders College by calling 01896 662532.
