A pensioner has been accused of being involved in a £27,500 benefits fraud at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Seventy six year old Christina Weir is charged with failing to notify Scottish Borders Council that she had capital over the prescribed limit and obtained housing benefit to the tune of £24,052 to which she was not entitled.
The offence is alleged to have happened at her Castlegate home in Jedburgh over a period of eight years between September 2009 and July 2017.
She faces similar charges of obtaining £1623 of council tax benefit and £1795 of Pension Credits to which she was not entitled.
The case was continued without plea until February 4.
