THOUSANDS of pounds of damage was caused in Newtown St Boswells on Friday night after vandals torched the local bottle bank.
Police believe the blaze was started during Friday night.
And they are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Scottish Borders Council has been made aware of the damage at Station Yard - and they are in talks with contractors regarding a clean-up and a replacement bank being brought in.
The fire has also caused significant damage to a neighbouring clothes recycling bin.
Anyone with information is aksed to contact Police Scotland on 101.
