A LIFE-SAVING charity is hosting a vital fundraising event this weekend in the Borders.

Blood Bikes Scotland is run entirely by volunteer motorcyclists who transport essential medicines and equipment between NHS hospitals and laboratories.

The charity is hosting a fundraising evening in St Boswells on Saturday full of live music with a light supper, raffle and bar included.

And everyone is invited along to listen to local band The Guilty Pleasures.

In 2018, Blood Bikes were awarded the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SVCO) Charity of the year.

The charity relies entirely on public support and donations to keep functioning.

Event organiser Helen Wright told us: "We would love to see as many people as possible attending the fundraising event and support the charity as well as a local band."

The fundraiser takes place in St Boswells Village Hall on Saturday at 7pm.
