STARS of the hit musical Les Misérables thrilled a packed Hawick Town Hall last week.

Recreating West End and Broadway musical hit songs with amazing authenticity, this cast of past principal performers from Les Misérables presented a blockbusting two-hour show that is considered to be the UK’s favourite musical theatre concert.

The performance featured David Fawcett (Valjean) Andy Reiss (Enjolras), who is also the resident director for the national tour of Les Misérables, Shona Lindsay (Phantom of the Opera, Grease, Chicago) and Poppy Tierney (Cosette), together with a live band, brilliantly captured the feel of the original orchestrations of the chosen musicals.

Organisers and promoters. Live Borders, hope the Beyond the Barricade show will lure music lovers back to similar events.

Events and programming officer Hamish Moir told us: “What an amazing night!

"A huge thanks to everyone who joined us for what was a journey through some of the greatest stage musicals including Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, Blood Brothers, The Lion King, Hamilton and, of course, Les Misérables.

"It was a brilliant atmosphere in Hawick Town Hall and we hope the audience enjoyed it as much as the Live Borders’ team.

"I would highly recommend checking out our future events programme.”
