A SELKIRK rugby player has been fined £200 at the town's sheriff court after being found guilty of an assault charge.
Winger Frazer Anderson had denied assaulting a man by punching him on the head to his injury at the Gala Rig horse race meeting as part of the Selkirk Common Riding celebrations on June 15.
But the 22-year-old of Thornfield Avenue, was convicted of the offence following a trial.
