FIDDLERS in Selkirk will be dressed to impress this year as they embark on a series of major performances.

Riddell Fiddles continue to be one of the most in-demand traditional instrumental groups in the region.

And later this year they will return to the sun to perform at the Barbados Celtic Festival.

Four members of the group will also be joining with the Shetland Fiddlers to perform at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2019.

Closer to home Riddell Fiddles will have toes tapping at Hawick Reivers Festival and Tweedbank Festival.

Ahead of a busy year, which also includes concerts at Allanton Village Hall and Eckford Village Hall, the junior section of the group, the Bannerfield Buskers, has been kitted out in new polo shirts.

The tops were presented by Selkirk Rotary Club.

Sheila Sapkota from Riddell Fiddles told us: "Thank you to the Rotary Club for their continuing support and encouragement."
