STIRLING’S MSP has stepped in to support Bruce Street residents blighted by dog fouling.
MSP Bruce Crawford, as well as Councillor Jim Thomson, recently met a resident in the area to discuss the situation.
Student Chris White explained to the duo dog dirt frequently appeared on the footpaths near his home.
The politicians have agreed to assess what support could be given.
MSP Crawford said: “This is an example of irresponsible dog ownership.
“Whilst it is irritating to find dog dirt on your shoes, it is potentially dangerous – especially to children.
“I have written to the chief executive of Stirling Council to find out more about what the local authority can do to help residents here tackle this issue.”
Cllr Thomson added: “I will work with officers, including those in the Safer Communities team, to properly address and tackle this issue.
“However, if you live locally and see any incidents of people not picking up after their dogs, you can help by picking up the phone and reporting it to the council.”
