AN appeal has been launched after thieves targeted five rural properties in the Borders in one night.
The break-ins happened overnight on Monday.
An Ifor Williams caged trailer and Genset diesel generator were stolen from a farm near Mossburnford.
Three Husqavarna chainsaws were stolen from a property near Makerstoun.
A Honda 420 quad bike was stolen from a farm near Blainslie.
Two Honda quad bikes (420 and 500 models) were stolen from a farm near Gordon.
And an attempt was made to break into a shed on a farm near Smailholm.
PC Nick Walker said: "We would urge farmers and those living in rural areas to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to Police immediately.
"If you saw any suspicious activity in these areas or have any information relating to these crimes please call 101.
"Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
