AFTER three years of sell-out stage shows, Scotland’s top nine-piece showband, Spatz & Co, launched their ‘One Night in Las Vegas’ tour in Galashiels earlier this month.

The show offered a taste of the glitz and glamour from the famous entertainment capital of the world.

From swing to blues, soul to Latin, and jazz to pop, their repertoire included songs made famous by stars such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Barry Manilow, Chuck Berry, Paul Simon and Eric Clapton. Galashiels fans also enjoyed the popular Glen Miller ‘Big Band’ sound.

Olly Robertson from organisers Live Borders told us: "We are very privileged to have hosted the debut show of the talented multi-instrumentalist band Spatz & Co.

"Their show was so varied, offering something for everyone, and all performed with the highest skill by musicians from around Scotland.

"The newly-refurbished Volunteer Hall was the perfect venue to host ‘One Night in Las Vegas’, and we are happy to be bringing the highest quality music to the Borders.”
