A BABY who was attacked by a dog in Hawick on Thursday remains in a critical condition after a weekend at the Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow.
The six-week-old boy, who has been named locally as Mikey Skelly, was rushed to Borders General Hospital on Thursday afternoon after being mauled by a terrier-type dog at a house in Burnfoot.
He was airlifted by an Air Ambulance trauma team to the specialist Glasgow unit, where he has been fighting for his life.
His condition has remained critical through to this morning.
The dog was destroyed shortly after the attack on Thursday.
Police officers have remained outside the Burns Road property.
A spokesman for Police Scotland told us: "Our investigations are ongoing."
