A BORDERS chocolate master is set to appear in a new Channel 4 series.
Ruth Hinks from Cocoa Black in Peebles will feature on Extreme Chocolate Makers – which is broadcast to 60 countries.
The programme focuses on different elite chocolatiers throughout the 10-part series.
And Ruth will be appearing on the one-hour Easter special where she will be working on a showpiece for the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire of Chatsworth House.
The showpiece, which is made of 30kg of chocolate, tells the story of Boney – a Blenheim Spaniel belonging to the 6th Duke of Devonshire.
And the 160,000 calorie work of art will be on display at the Derbyshire stately home until October 6.
Ruth's second commission for the series is a life-sized chocolate beer barrel.
Commissioned by Dougal Sharp, chairman of Edinburgh-based craft brewer, Innis & Gunn, it was smashed open in front of a crowd of more than 300 at the company's new Taproom bar on Lothian Road in Edinburgh.
Ruth told us: "The chance to take part in a global TV series is a dream come true.
"At Cocoa Black, we’ve pulled out all the stops on what we hope will be mind-blowing television.
"Something that will resonate with chocolate lovers around the world and bring them to Peebles."
The 10-part series will hit the airwaves at 6pm on Easter Sunday.
The programme is made by the same TV company behind Extreme Cake Makers – which won 'Best Daytime Series' at the Broadcast Awards in 2018.
