A HAWICK man has been fined after being caught in possession of £300 worth of cocaine..

Police officers were searching another man's house in Howdenbank on November 18 when 26-year-old Andrew Clamp turned up at the property at 1.10am.

A number of items were found in his possession including white pwoder which turned out to be 3.2 grammes of cocaine, valued at £300.

Defence lawyer Mat Patrick said things were chaotic for his client at the time of the offence but he had not consumed the drug during the course of 2019.

Clamp of Weensland Road, was told by Sheriff Peter Paterson: "Possession of cocaine is not acceptable in society. If you continue with this it will not be dealt with in the same manner next time."

Clamp was fined £250 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
