ONE of the most highly-anticipated art events in Galashiels takes place next month.

The Annual Exhibition of Galashiels Studio Club takes place on Saturday, May 11.

The exhibition in Old Gala House features the talent of new and well-known Border artists, including the work of members, professional local artists, and the winners of the Young Artist Award from Galashiels Academy.

Visitors can expect to see a wide range of work, from landscapes, still life, and portraits to abstract painting: all will be featured in this exciting, varied exhibition.

Phoebe Stewart, Assistant Curator for charity Live Borders said: “The Annual exhibition of the Galashiels Studio Club work is always very popular with visitors.

"It’s an excellent opportunity for professional local artists to exhibit their work in a professional gallery and a brilliant opportunity for visitors to see a huge variety of the many talented artists that reside in the Scottish Borders, helping to make communities healthier, happier and stronger.”

The exhibition runs from Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, June 9 at Old Gala House, Scott Crescent, Galashiels.

Admission is free, although donations to the charity are welcome.

The gallery is open between 10am and 4pm.
