Woman fought off thug in early hours incident in Galashiels
A WOMAN had to fight off a thug in Galashiels last weekend.
A man approached the woman when she was walking along Melrose Road at around 1am on Sunday, April 14.
The would-be thief asked for her handbag, but ran off when challenged by the victim.
Police are now appealing for information.
The man is described as white, between 25 and 30-years-old with a very slim build, short black hair and wearing a grey zip-up hooded top with a small logo on the chest.
Anyone with information should contact Galashiels Police Station via 101 and quote incident number 469 of April 14.
