GALA'S Christmas lights have received an Easter boost from local tyre firm Ostle's.
The Currie Road company donated £1 from every tyre sold on Good Friday to help the town's festive lights committee.
And over the weekend staff members Angela Elliot and Emma Tanner handed over a cheque for £277 to Leanne Ford from the Galashiels Christmas Lights appeal group.
Further fundraisers are planned by the group over the coming months, including a Bake Sale at Borders General Hospital on Monday, May 6 and a Race Night at the MacArts centre on Friday, May 24.
Supporter Bill Jeffrey is also attempting a coast-to-coast walk to further boost the fundraising.
