Galashiels shoplifter is jailed for 70 days
A 36-year-old woman who admitted stealing from a Galashiels store has been jailed for 70 days at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Elizabeth Steven of Beech Avenue, Galashiels, pleaded guilty to the theft of cigarettes, tobacco and a scratch card from the Spar shop in Marigold Bank on October 27.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of her co-accused, 28-year-old Michael Johnston of Marigold Bank, Galashiels, who failed to appear in court.
