THERE was Royalty, of sorts, in Peebles last week as one of the high street's brightest new businesses celebrated its first year of trading.

It was exactly 12 months ago that Kerrie Guiney opened The Perfect Fit.

The bright and cheerful children’s shoe and clothing shop has been a huge success.

And to celebrate the first birthday, Kerrie hosted a mum and dad’s party followed by a Royal Reception for her younger customers.

Anna and Elsa from Frozen visited the shop on Monday to help Kerrie’s younger customers blow out the candles.

Kerrie told us: “It’s been the quickest and most exciting 12 months of my life, don’t get me wrong it’s been hard work but it’s been worth it.

"Peebles and the wider Borders community have made me feel so welcome and my wee shop is going strength to strength.

"I can’t wait to see what the next 12 months have in store for us.”

The Perfect Fit was recognised at the Borders Business Awards earlier in the year, winning the award for best newcomer.

Kerrie is now up against new businesses from across Scotland at the Scottish Business Awards later this month.

She added: “I’m more than a little nervous but have everything crossed that we win.

"It would really be the icing on the cake of an amazing year.”
