BACKGROUND reports have been ordered at Selkirk Sheriff Court into a motorist who was found to be driving while disqualified on the A7.
Marc Lindsay also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance in Stow on April 28.
The 43-year-old of Avonside Drive, Denny, is currently banned until this September.
But he was heading northwards out of Stow when police spotted his vehicle and realised it was uninsured.
Procurator fiscal Graham Fraser said: "He was very quick to disclose he was a disqualified driver. It was a case of taking a chance.
"He was trying to establish a new relationship in the Borders and he drove down."
Sheriff Robert Vaughan deferred sentence until June 17 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment.
