THE trial of a Hawick motorist accused of driving while almost seven times over the legal alcohol limit has been delayed until August.
Thirty seven year old Robert McLeod of Stonefield Place, denies driving with a breath/alcohol count of 145 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22.
The offence is alleged to have been committed at the Borders General Hospital car park on October 16 and on the A7 at Ashkirk.
Selkirk Sheriff Court was told he was putting forward a defence of post-incident drinking.
The trial date was set for August 27 with an intermediate hearing on August 12,
