AN appeal has been made for witnesses after thieves stole a car from a layby on the A7.

The silver Vauxhall Omega had been parked at the layby near Fountainhall on Tuesday, May 30.

But when the owner returned to collect the car this week, he found it had been stolen.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "A silver Vauxhall Omega with the registration KJ52 UGM was parked in a laybyone mile south of Fountainhall.

"When the owner returned to collect the vehicle on Monday, June 10 it had been stolen."
