BOSSES at Eildon Housing flung open the doors of their latest development last week.

The open day at the social landlord's apartments on Selkirk High Street allowed potential tenants, as well as neighbours, a chance to view inside the eye-catching building.

The creative design, which ensures the challenging site in a sensitive location has been developed to both regenerate the local area and also provide high quality accommodation, has already been short-listed for a major award.

Eildon chief executive Nile Istephan told us: “We are particularly proud of this new development which has been nominated for the Scottish Home Awards, Small Affordable Housing Development of the Year.

"The open day has attracted lots of visitors from interested parties and neighbours and all have provided very positive feedback.”

The £1.374 million development provides 10 much-needed, high quality one and two bedroomed homes.

Mr Istephan added: “We have ambitious plans to invest heavily in our region and are taking forward a wide range of further new affordable housing developments which are of equal high quality.

"We are hopeful they will receive similar recognition in the future as we continue to work to deliver inclusive growth for the Borders.”
