A MOTORIST accused of careless driving which resulted in a pedestrian being seriously injured has been cleared at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Fiona McDonald, who is 49, of Justice Park, Oxton, denied the offence which was said to have happened at the forecourt of the Co-op Petrol Station in Earlston on September 15.
It was alleged she was driving without due care and attention and caused her car to collide with the rear of another vehicle resulting in a pedestrian standing between the two vehicles being seriously injured and both vehicles damaged.
But following a trial defence lawyer Ed Hulme put forward a no case to answer submission which was upheld by Sheriff Peter Paterson.
As a result McDonald was accordingly found not guilty of the charge.
