A 26-year-old man who admitted breaking into a car showroom and then driving a vehicle through the doors of the premises has been ordered to carry out 225 hours of unpaid work.
Patryk Krysztofowicz of Glebe Court, Duns, pleaded guilty to the break-in at Aitken Walker Cars in Berwick Road, Duns, on January 3 and stealing a quantity of keys and two toy bears.
He admitted causing malicious damage by driving the car through a door, having no insurance and no licence.
Krysztofowicz also pleaded guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to possession of a knife in Tweed Road, Galashiels, on February 5, and assaulting two young females including pushing one of them out a car as well as another driving with no insurance or licence offence.
In addition to the unpaid work Krysztofowicz was ordered to pay £200 compensation to the garage and £100 each to the two females he assaulted.
