THE final works on the A72 between the Nest roundabout and Walkerburn are due to take place next week.
The Holylee to Thornilee section of the road will be resurfaced on Thursday and Friday (July 11 and 12).
However, the road will remain open, with a convoy system in place between 8am and 5pm.
It follows a three-day closure this week on the same section of the A72 for essential patching ahead of the resurfacing.
A Scottish Borders Council spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the travelling public for all their patience with this week’s closure which allowed the workers to operate in a safe manner without the risk of passing vehicles.
“By allowing the road to be closed, it means the works could be carried out much quicker.
“The road will remain open on July 11 and 12 during the resurfacing but motorists are advised to expect delays.”
