THIS weekend sees a group of friends climb Ben Nevis in memory of Scott Hutchison, the front man of Selkirk band Frightened Rabbit who took his own life last year.

Andrew Duncan, Kevin Smith, Kevin Irvine, Andy Bruce, Aaron Fortson and Paul Storr will be raising money for three mental health charities: Martyn's Monday Club, CALM and Tiny Changes, a charity set up by Scott's family to provide support for children and young people with mental health issues.

The musicians (weather permitting) also plan to carry their guitars up the mountain and perform the Frightened Rabbit song, Head Rolls Off, which includes the line ‘while I'm alive, I'll make tiny changes to earth’, which has been the friends' mantra as they have prepared for the climb.

Organiser Kevin Smith said: ‘Our aim is to raise £3,000 to split equally between the three charities. We have done incredibly well so far and are almost at our target.’

You can donate on the group's Justgiving page https://justgiving.com/crowdfunding/massheightorganfight.

Meanwhile, a signed Chewbacca mask worn by Lewis Capaldi during his introduction at TRNSMT has raised £5,000 for the Tiny Changes charity.
