NEW leisure link with other areas of Scotland will see Live Borders members able to access leisure facilities out with the Scottish Borders for free.

With approximately 9.7 million health and fitness club members in the UK it has never been more popular to get into the gym.

And now for the first time, Borders people will be able to access fitness facilities in other Scottish regions with their One Club membership.

The scheme, known as the Leisure Link Partnership, will allow people working away from home or on holiday in participating areas to use the local facilities, at no extra cost, as part of their existing home-based membership.

Live Borders’ One Club members will now be able to access gym, public swimming and fitness classes at leisure facilities across Highland, Moray, Orkney, The Western Isles, and Argyll and Bute.

Ben Lamb, Director of Operations at Live Borders, said: “We have a commitment to people across the Borders being healthier, happier and stronger, and now this can apply to people visiting the Borders as well.

“We are constantly looking for ways to widen the services offered to One Club members and the Leisure Link Partnership offers flexibility to locals and visitors alike.

“As an organisation, we are very committed to collaborating, and the Leisure Link Partnership is an excellent opportunity for us to work in partnership with like-minded organisations as well as maximise benefits for our members.”

Many of the individual Leisure Link Partnership sites will also offer access to other public sessions where cardholders can take part in many other activities such as running and indoor climbing.

Visiting cardholders are advised to check out the Leisure Link Partnership section of their local centre’s website to establish full access details.
