PEEBLES community choir InChorus is making a welcome return to the Edinburgh Fringe next month.

And the singers are hoping to continue their remarkable record of selling out venues during the international arts festival.

For the past three years the talented singers have wowed audiences from around the world in the capital.

And anyone lucky enough to have a ticket for the Assembly Roxy Central (Venue 139) on the evening of Wednesday, August 7 will no doubt experience yet another wondrous performance.

Choir manager Lorna Turnbull said: “This will be our fourth Fringe concert and at all our previous appearances we have been thrilled to find that a great proportion of our audiences came from Tweeddale.

"We hope to welcome a large home crowd again.

"Their support is what keeps us going and is never taken for granted.”

Rehearsals have been ongoing over the summer ahead of the annual Fringe performance.

Excitations with InChorus showcases exciting new material together with some well-known crowd pleasers, all especially arranged for the large eight-part choir.

In a largely acapella performance there will be songs from all around the globe, together with numbers by Queen, Camila Cabello, Enya, Billy Joel, the Beach Boys, George Ezra, a Motown mash-up, ending with an exhilarating celebration of InChorus’ wonderful ten plus years.

Musical Director,Aly Skidmore told us: “As always, the choir offers its own unique mix of inspiring contemporary music.

"There’s everything from pop to world music, and traditional to modern classical.

"Combined with InChorus’ vibrant performance style, we guarantee that the audience will have a stimulating, rousing and toe-tapping time, ensuring that levels of excitement are raised considerably during the hour, and that people leave titillated totally.”

Following their three previous performances, InChorus received the much coveted Fringe ‘Sell-out Show’ laurel.

And members are hoping they can make it four sold-out appearances in a row.
